About the Role

As a Construction Economist Intern at LED GIANT, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our company. This is an exciting role for someone looking to gain experience in the construction industry and develop their skills in economic analysis and project management.

Job Responsibilities
  • We are seeking an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assist in preparing estimates of labour and material costs.
  • You will be responsible for creating pre-qualification submissions to present to clients and reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will also operate CADD and other computer software systems to prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
  • In addition, you will provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects, project cash flow and financing requirements.
  • Other responsibilities include creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms, advising on tendering procedures, analyzing tenders, and recommending awards.
  • You will set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
