Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpentry Teacher to join our team at Frontier School Division. As a Carpentry Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Carpentry Fundamentals, Carpentry Tools and Equipment, Framing, Interior & Exterior Finishing, Surveying & Concrete, Advance Framing, Carpentry Millwork, and Applied Carpentry to high school students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of students
  • Provide instruction and guidance to students in Carpentry-related subjects
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and learning
Requirements
  • Technical Vocational Teacher Education Diploma (TVE) or in the process of obtaining
  • Journeyperson Carpenter status (Red Seal)
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • A sound knowledge of provincial carpentry curriculum and the Manitoba Building Code
  • Experience in a teaching or training capacity would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Indigenous way of life
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Experience working in a northern community would be considered an asset
  • Self-motivated
