We are seeking a skilled Carpentry Teacher to join our team at the Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre. As a Carpentry Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Carpentry Fundamentals, Carpentry Tools and Equipment, Framing, Interior & Exterior Finishing, Surveying & Concrete, Advance Framing, Carpentry Millwork, and Applied Carpentry to high school students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Carpentry courses
- Provide instruction and guidance to students in a classroom setting
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Stay up-to-date with provincial carpentry curriculum and the Manitoba Building Code
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
- Technical Vocational Teacher Education Diploma (TVE) or in the process of obtaining
- Journeyperson Carpenter status (Red Seal)
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- A sound knowledge of provincial carpentry curriculum and the Manitoba Building Code
- Experience in a teaching or training capacity would be an asset
- Knowledge of Indigenous way of life
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience working in a northern community would be considered an asset
