MRI Imaging Specialist

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team at Island Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to quality control standards and radiation safety protocols.
- Develop and maintain proficiency in MRI technology and software applications.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide excellent patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and designation as a certified Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Three (3) years recent, related experience, including two (2) years MRI experience in an acute setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- CPR Certificate - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level (CDH and WCG only).
- Demonstrate knowledge of image quality assessment and control and diagnostic equipment procedures, radiation safety and quality control standards and practices.
- Demonstrate proficient skills with the Microsoft suite of applications, including Word and Excel, and medical imaging computerized applications, such as PACS.
- Ability to organize and coordinate workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish priorities in collaboration with others.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to foster good public relations.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including computer utilizing a variety of specialized software applications and electronic information systems.
- Demonstrated willingness to keep current with technological developments in the field.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
