About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clerk 3 in the Records and Compliance group within the Department of Public Works. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing driver records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in posting transactions and information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clients with information regarding their driver's record, license status, reinstatement requirements, and/or vehicle registration issues via telephone.
  • Initiate appropriate follow-up action for drivers as required under the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act, including suspension of license privileges for non-compliance.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, making decisions that have a direct impact on clients, requiring accuracy, multitasking, and ability to deal with changing priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services Contact Center, Access Nova Scotia, and other Registry of Motor Vehicle staff regarding driver record matters.
Requirements
  • Four (4) years of related experience in a customer service and/or administrative environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and understanding of the rules of the road.
  • Proficiency in data entry and well-developed computer skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in work, with ability to interpret and analyze driver records.
