Job Title: Registered Nurse, Inpatient Surgery Unit

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Surgery Unit at Humber River Health. As a member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of safe and effective surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care to surgical patients, utilizing your knowledge of acute medical and surgical care to assess, plan, and implement effective care plans.
  • Carefully coordinate care with various team members, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Utilize computerized systems for documentation of patient care, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Participate in project teams or hospital committees as required, contributing to the improvement of patient care and services.
  • Assume resource and charge responsibilities, demonstrating leadership skills and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • BCLS certification or demonstrated competency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of acute medical and surgical care, including assessment and management of patients with continuous peripheral nerve block, patient-controlled analgesia epidural, and epidural.
  • Recent surgical experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in initiating IV therapy and venipuncture, as well as good patient and family teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer systems, including Meditech and keyboarding skills.
  • Willingness to rotate to other departments as required.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
