Strategic Network Security Director

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Network Security Director to join our team at Scotiabank. This is a senior leadership role that requires a deep understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.

The successful candidate will have 8+ years of experience in network security engineering or a related field, with a strong background in planning, designing, and deploying large-scale enterprise or data-center infrastructure/technologies.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security, CEH). The ideal candidate will also have 5+ years of leadership experience with demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide technical leadership and strategic direction in the design, implementation, and management of network security solutions and platforms.
  • To protect Scotiabank's network infrastructure from evolving cyber threats and ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.
  • To work with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the design and implementation of new network security technologies and initiatives.
  • To evaluate network security resiliency and performance to provide statistics reports and enhancement recommendations to executives, stakeholders, and department heads.
Technical Requirements:
  • In-depth working knowledge of network security principles, protocols, architectures, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with Google and Azure cloud computing platforms and understanding of cloud security best practices.
  • Experience designing and operating secured DDoS resilient infrastructures with WAF, CDNs, SLB, security gateways, and content filtering.
