Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience with payroll processing, data entry, and benefits administration. As our Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions on a biweekly schedule.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • You will process bi-weekly payroll for all Canadian and US employees, generating and updating timely excel payroll registers for review and approval
  • You will gather and enter new employee data into Ceridian, benefits portal, and time entry system, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date
  • You will process terminations and ROE's and quickly respond to final pay processing requests being cognizant of different rules and timelines for different jurisdictions
  • You will process weekly meal penalty reports, review and communicate discrepancies in time cards with Field Service managers
  • You will review and adjust timesheets per supervisor requests, import timesheet records to Ceridian for USA payroll, and key in time sheet records to Ceridian for Canada payroll
  • You will add secondary payments for commissions, expenses, bonuses as needed, upload 401k and RRSP contributions in the benefits portal, and add 401k and RRSP employer matching contributions in Ceridian for employees as per company policy
  • You will generate monthly Health Benefits and Reports for coding, be the point of contact for the setup and changes to employee benefit enrollment, and contact our providers as needed
  • You will complete unemployment, earnings verification and disability requests as needed, manage employee information changes in Ceridian. (Address, withholding, etc.), and provide payroll information for company requests (Washington, California, BC)

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Payroll Processing Experience in Canada or USA
  • Experience working within bi-weekly payroll submission deadlines
  • Experience with data entry across various systems including benefits, time entry, and payroll systems
  • Experience with Ceridian Canada and US (Powerpay, Redwood)
  • Experience preparing payroll-related accounting entries for accounting systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Experience with Benefits administration

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with T-Sheets, Synerion or other time-keeping software
  • Familiarity with processing workers comp claims
  • Experience with US jurisdictions
