Job Summary

Tuttarvik Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our infrastructure development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members
  • Monitor and control project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and resources
  • Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and lead the tendering, evaluations, and contract award processes
  • Administer and direct design consultants and contractors in accordance with contract documents
  • Review and recommend invoices for payment of contracts administered
  • Track project deliverables and lead quality assurance
  • Monitor and report on project progress and present to stakeholders
  • Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluate and assess project results
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., architecture, engineering, or related field)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively challenging project management experience delivering medium to large commercial, institutional, or municipal infrastructure building projects
  • At least 5 years of senior managerial experience leading diverse teams
  • At least 2 years of experience with public sector capital projects or public sector facility management program delivery
Competencies
  • Knowledge of modern project management best practices
  • Knowledge of Canadian or Nunavut laws, codes, building guides, and public sector project management and contracting policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of construction, economic, political, social, and cross-cultural conditions and practices
  • Knowledge of construction procurement strategies and practices, including in the public sector
  • Strong understanding of design and construction issues and legal concepts
  • Theories, principles, practices of human resources and financial administration
  • Strategic management and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead a team of professionals
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate concepts, ideas, instructions, and to recognize and rectify miscommunications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Stakeholder management and consensus-building skills
  • Interpersonal and negotiating skills
