Director, Industrial Design and Innovation

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is a global leader in the creation of innovative and game-changing transportation solutions. Our products and services provide world-class experiences that set new standards in passenger comfort, energy efficiency, reliability, and safety.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Industrial Design and Innovation to join our team. This new position will be responsible for creating the product experience for all our fleet, and most importantly, the product experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement industrial design strategies that impact our customers' experiences and overall appreciation for our products.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with international design brands and luxury products to integrate them into our aircraft.
  3. Conduct research into emerging design and technology trends to stay ahead of the competition.
  4. Present design ideas, concepts, and products to customers and gather feedback from end-customers and representatives.
  5. Create a detailed and inspiring vision on how to identify and meet customers' needs for business aircraft.
  6. Lead, plan, organize, and execute projects with a team of highly skilled and diverse designers.
  7. Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to rapidly experiment and iterate on design concepts to bring them to reality.
Requirements
  1. University degree in Industrial Design or equivalent, with an MBA preferably.
  2. 20+ years of experience in Industrial Design, Interior Design, R&D, and related activities.
  3. Track record of design innovation successes.
  4. Good understanding of the Business Aircraft Industry, key players, markets, and customers.
  5. Creative, collaborative, and driven to innovate.
  6. Solid communicator to engage people and generate buy-in.
