About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our Supplier Performance team, you will lead a team of talented engineers in the design, development, and launch of new features and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in the development of new features and products
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage a roadmap and deliver results
  • Understand the products and systems owned by the team, their limitations, and the reasons behind architectural decisions
  • Provide and support high-quality engineering best practices
  • Allocate engineer time towards improving quality and reducing technical debt
Requirements
  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers
