About the Role

IMAX is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join its growing Corporate Finance team. As a key member of the team, you will report directly to the Manager, Corporate Accounting and be responsible for various aspects of IMAX's corporate accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a quality month-end close cycle by delivering timely, accurate, and useful financial data for IMAX Corporation, as well as ad hoc analysis as requested by management.
  • Analyze and prepare month-end results, including monthly journal entries for various revenue streams and cost areas.
  • Prepare and record monthly accounting entries for the Company's global entities.
  • Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis, supported by appropriate documentation and audit trail.
  • Prepare quarterly supporting schedules and note disclosures to the Financial Reporting Team for 10-Q and 10-K SEC filing, MD&A.
  • Prepare quarter-end and year-end working papers for internal and external auditors on a timely basis.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Designated professional in CPA, CA, or substantial program completion.
  • 3+ years' experience in a Financial Analyst/Corporate Accounting role, preferably at a public company environment with exposure to a multinational organization.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.

  • Familiarity with US GAAP a plus.
  • Ability to learn and understand new business processes in a growing industry.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Highly efficient, detail-oriented, and process improvement-minded.
  • Ability to stay focused to meet deadlines under tight timelines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
