Job Title: Intermediate Transportation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Transportation Engineer to join our team in downtown Toronto. As a key member of our Roadway Engineering Team, you will be responsible for providing traffic engineering services for a wide range of projects, including municipal roadway and provincial highway projects, transit and rail projects, and transportation-related facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment to develop long-term career opportunities with experienced transportation professionals.
  • Utilize knowledge of design requirements for various approval authorities, such as the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), regions, and municipalities.
  • Conduct in-depth traffic assessments and impactful traffic analysis studies to shape the planning and construction phases of projects.
  • Engage in every stage of infrastructure projects, from brainstorming in the planning phase to crafting preliminary designs and diving deep into detail design.
  • Support preparing engineering drawings, sketches, layouts, and other technical documents.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with multidisciplinary teams to identify issues and mitigation measures to satisfy approval requirements.
  • Venture into site inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Engage, discuss, and strategize in both internal and external team meetings to drive project success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; Master's degree in Transportation Engineering is desirable.
  • 5 years of traffic engineering experience after university graduation.
  • Tech-savvy engineers with hands-on experience in traffic modeling and simulation software, such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Vistro, HCS, and Vissim.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with Aimsun, VISUM, and EMME (Macro Modelling).
  • Proficient with MS Office tools.
  • Methodical approach to solving problems.
  • Initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Sensitivity to context and understanding the traffic discipline role within multi-disciplinary projects.
