We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Inpatient Medicine & ICU Program at Trillium Health Partners. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will provide exceptional patient-centered care in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care for patients within an interprofessional environment, including assessment, treatment, teaching, and education.
- Teach and coach patients and families to promote health and well-being.
- Commit to a healthy, safe, and respectful workplace.
- Practice in compliance with provincial legislation, hospital policies, and procedures; professional regulatory standards; and best practices within the nursing profession.
- Maintain professional competence by completing regular professional development.
- Graduate of a recognized college or school of nursing or equivalent.
- Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO.
- Able to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Medication Administration Certificate and experience with administration of medication within the last year required.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and ability to care for acute patients with various care needs.
- Computer skills, including typing, sending, and receiving email, and working with Microsoft applications.
- A positive work and attendance record is essential.
- Minimum of 2 years acute care medical/surgical experience.
- Physical assessment course.
- Experience working with acute care medicine patient populations, including respirology, nephrology, cardiology patients requiring telemetry monitoring, and geriatric patients.
- Experience in providing and delivering patient and family education.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates patient and family-centered care values.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Experience and knowledge with Meditech and/or Sunrise Clinical Manager clinical application systems.
