We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at the Vancouver General Hospital project. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including preparing layouts, building concrete forms, and completing rough and finishing carpentry tasks.
Responsibilities- Comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
- Understand industrial concrete forming and build concrete forms
- Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, utilizing appropriate math skills
- Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and the right size, shape, and location
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Organize and maintain a clean and safe work site, adhering to site HSE standards
- Preference will be given to a Journeyperson Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
- Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
- Experience with concrete formwork is required
- Fall Protection and Confined Space is an asset
- Light equipment operating experience is an asset
- Certifications needed: CSTS & WHMIS
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
