Job Description

This role requires an individual who is passionate about agriculture and has excellent analytical skills.

The successful candidate will conduct field scouting visits, perform soil and plant tissue tests, and analyze data to deliver recommendations.

They will also carry out functions related to variable rate processes, including mapping, soil sampling, and crop assessments.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Agriculture or a related field.

At least 2 years of agronomy experience is an asset, but not required.

A valid Class 5 Driver's License is also necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct field scouting visits for plant stand/establishment, herbicide timing/efficacy, and insect and disease management checks.
  • Perform soil and plant tissue tests, including analysis to deliver recommendations.
  • Carry out functions related to the Variable Rate process, including mapping, soil sampling, and crop assessments.
  • Conduct analysis during winter months for fertility & seed recommendations, soil moisture data, and yield data.
  • Investigate and evaluate potential opportunities to provide further value to customers.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Skills and Experience

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Agriculture or related field.
  • At least 2 years of agronomy experience is an asset, but not required.
