Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to treat sick or injured animals, including prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery.
  • Administer vaccinations to prevent and treat diseases, and provide advice to clients on animal care, nutrition, and behavior.
  • Conduct veterinary research related to animal nutrition, healthcare products development, and disease prevention and control.
  • Enforce government regulations in disease control and food production, including animal or animal-based food inspection.
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations to ensure the highest standard of animal care.
  • Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.

Certifications and Qualifications:

  • Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification
