Nuclear Medicine Technologist Role at Nova Scotia Health Authority

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to contribute to the success of our healthcare team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This key position involves preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform various nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adapting procedures according to patient needs and medical requirements
  • Performing complex computer manipulations and analysis to ensure accurate results
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
  • Working independently on-call/emergency procedures outside regular department hours

Requirements

  • Graduate degree from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Basic life support certification
  • Workplace hazardous materials information system training

Work Environment and Compensation

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work 75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday, with a call rotation and possible travel between HI and VG sites. Compensation includes an hourly rate between $34.24 and $39.96, with benefits including health, dental, travel, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
