About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at IWK Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure their comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
  • Record and process results of procedures, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Apply radiation protection measures to minimize patient exposure and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Record and process patient data, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Provide appropriate care and monitoring of patients during examinations, responding to their needs and concerns.
  • Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record high-quality images, contributing to accurate diagnoses.
  • Co-ordinate work activities with other departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Carry out administrative and clerical activities, including record keeping, scheduling, and compiling documents.
  • Provide information and care for patients during tests, addressing their questions and concerns in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • Certification by a provincial or territorial association is required.
  • Experience in a related field is an asset.
  • Proficiency in English is necessary, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
