Dufferin Aggregates, a division of CRH Canada, is a leading supplier of aggregates for the construction industry in Ontario. We operate more than 20 sites, including quarries, sand pits, and distribution yards to supply crushed stone, sand, and gravel, recycled crushed concrete, and recycled crushed asphalt for the commercial, industrial, residential, and civil engineering sector.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Services Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for aggregates volume, price, and margin across Dufferin Aggregates service areas, as well as growth in the soils management business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales of aggregates volume, price, and margin across Dufferin Aggregates service areas.
  • Growth in the soil management line of business.
  • Ensure the execution of commercial strategies and key performance indicators.
  • Develops annual commercial strategy, identifies risk, and develops new opportunities.
  • Oversees customer service team to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Communicating marketing strategy to internal and necessary external stakeholders.
  • Ensure OH&S standards and performance objectives/targets are met by employees.
  • Identify and fill all critical positions within the line of business.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
  • Drive any necessary culture change and improvement in business performance to deliver strategic goals.
  • Support and drive Health and Safety processes and procedures within the organization, implementing a behavioral approach to safety and a zero-tolerance culture.
  • Motivate and provide direction to the sales organization.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree with a focus on business or economics with 10+ years of experience in the aggregates industry.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a cross-functional team and/or sales organization within a matrix-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and communicate appropriate metrics, interpret trends, and adjust strategies as needed in response to changing market conditions and/or role requirements.
  • Experience operating in and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Customer-focused & adaptable, with superb communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
