Real Property Governance Specialist

The Government of Alberta seeks a highly skilled and experienced Real Property Governance Sector Planner to join our team. As a key member of the Land Planning Unit, you will play a critical role in the administration of applications under the Real Property Governance Act, the Post-Secondary Learning Act, and the Education Act.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and draft decision-making documents, including letters, Ministerial Orders, and briefing notes.
- Identify and analyze opportunities for properties to support capital projects or other Government needs.
- Consult with staff from Infrastructure and other Government departments to clarify and confirm land needs, identify and interpret property encumbrances, and other details.
- Administrate formal applications in accordance with legislated procedures and internal policies.
- Provide Management with background information on new files, analyze the file, and make recommendations for further actions.
- Review and provide advice on issues of municipal zoning bylaws, Area Structure Plans, and Servicing/Development Agreements with municipalities and utility operators.
- Assist with process development, process improvement, and record keeping for RPG activities.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of Real Property Governance Act decisions.
To be successful in this role, you will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
