Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy, and contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical services, including medication reviews and disease state management
  • Initiating care plans, following up, and documenting patient information
  • Administering vaccines and determining the appropriateness of drug therapy
  • Monitoring medication adherence and collecting relevant patient, drug, and disease information
  • Recommending OTC products and vitamins, and answering questions from patients requiring therapeutic knowledge or clinical analysis
  • Supervising a pharmacy student or provisional pharmacist in the performance of restricted activities

Technical Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-directed and able to work independently
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will be:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
  • Injection certified
  • Additional Prescribing Authorization an asset
