We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Pipefitter to join our team at Canadian Plains. As an Apprentice Pipefitter, you will possess the knowledge and skills required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Read and Interpret Technical Drawings
Our ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints, including Isometrics, P&IDs, and other technical documents.
Assist Experienced PipefittersAs an Apprentice Pipefitter, you will assist experienced pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on-site.
Pipe Assembly and InstallationYou will be responsible for assembling piping and valves, preparing pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging, and installing supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
Hydrotesting and Quality ControlOur Apprentice Pipefitter will hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
Measurement and FabricationYou will measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape, and fabricate pipe and fittings as needed.
Requirements- Apprenticeship Registration
Registration with the appropriate apprenticeship board as an Apprentice Pipefitter is considered an asset but not required.
Previous ExperiencePrevious experience working as an apprentice in the oilfield industry and previous construction experience are highly valued.
Physical DemandsYou must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Communication SkillsFluent in speaking and reading English is essential, and the ability to follow directions is crucial for success in this role.
