About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at MRG Custom Concrete Forming Inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to construction and building projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a noisy and dusty environment. You will be required to work at various locations, including construction sites and renovation projects.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
