Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Nickel City Steel Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods and materials within our supply chain.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a logistics professional to utilize their skills in a fast-paced environment. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will work closely with our purchasing and production teams to ensure seamless delivery of materials and products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate shipments: Determine method of shipment, schedule distribution of goods, and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Inspect and verify goods: Inspect incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
  • Maintain records: Maintain internal record-keeping system and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
  • Pack and unpack goods: Pack goods to be shipped and unpack goods received, affixing identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments as needed.
  • Safety and supervision: Oversee loading and unloading of goods, supervise material handlers and helpers, and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Forklift Operator Certification: Possess valid certification for operating industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts.
  • Computer and technology knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Windows.
  • Equipment and machinery experience: Experience with powered crane operation and maintenance.
