About the Role

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists Limited is a leading firm with a strong presence in Atlantic Canada and Ontario. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Barrie, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical design for various infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, dams, buildings, and tunnels.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical programs, including field investigations, analysis, and design.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on geotechnical matters.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery of quality work.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging regulatory requirements and best practices in geotechnical engineering.
Requirements
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field from a recognized university.
  • Possess at least 10 years of post-graduate experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Be proficient in geotechnical software applications such as Slope/W, Seep/W, Sigma/W, Settle3D, FLAC, PLAXIS, or similar.
  • Be a licensed Professional Engineer in Canada and eligible to become a Registered Professional Engineer with PEO.
  • Have experience with client service and business development.
  • Be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and provide excellent client service.
