Financial Professional for Antibody-Based Medicines

We are seeking a motivated and talented individual currently pursuing a degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field to join our Accounting and Risk Assurance & Advisory (RAAS) teams as a co-op or intern for an 8-month term. This role offers exposure to various aspects of financial accounting, internal controls, compliance, and risk management in a well-enabled Finance team.

Your areas of responsibility will include supporting RAAS with the coordination and execution of SOX compliance programs, planned assurance and advisory engagements, and participation in enterprise risk management assessment workshops. You will also manage a portfolio of $650 million in cash and marketable securities, accurately recording cash transactions and ensuring the integrity of our financial records through the reconciliation process.

In this on-site position based in Vancouver, you will receive guidance and supervision from experienced team members within the Accounting and RAAS teams. The internship is designed to offer exposure to real-world projects and the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of antibody-based medicines within Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing, reviewing, and testing accounting and financial controls
  • Participating in assurance and advisory engagements, including planning, executing, and reporting
  • Assisting with enterprise risk assessment workshops
  • Applying basic accounting principles to routine business transactions and recording related journal entries
  • Contributing to projects to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting rhythms
  • Assisting with Canadian and US tax compliance filings and preparing documentation for audit requests
  • Participating in projects to improve processes and controls across the finance department, including new system implementations
  • Supporting Enterprise Data capture initiatives to inform longer-term forecasting

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

AbCellera's hiring range for this role is CAD $3,300 - $3,700 per month, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
