Job Title: Rehabilitation Assistant

Job Summary:

The Rehabilitation Assistant plays a vital role in supporting adult clients to achieve their maximum potential. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work under the direction of a supervisor to ensure the delivery of the treatment program as prescribed by a regulated healthcare practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement rehabilitation programs with clients as directed by Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapists
  • Promote maximum independence of clients in their homes to support reintegration into the community
  • Implement exercise programs or group exercise classes as directed
  • Implement behavioral interventions with clients as directed
  • Facilitate and supervise activities of daily living, along with social, educational/vocational reintegration plans, as directed
  • Facilitate and implement cognitive therapy programs as directed
  • Promote and implement leisure activities as directed
  • Attend case conferences and team meetings as required
  • Understand and implement infection prevention practices
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
  • Adhere to Bayshore HealthCare policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Rehabilitation Assistant college program
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a team
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance
