We are seeking a dedicated and caring ECE Assistant to join our team at Horizon School Inc.

Job Summary

The ECE Assistant will work under the supervision of early childhood educators to provide high-quality care and education to children in our childcare centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess children's development and create individualized learning plans
  • Assist with housekeeping and cooking duties
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support children's development
  • Maintain daycare equipment and supplies
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts
  • Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and report to early childhood educators or supervisors
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years
  • 1-2 years of experience working with children
  • Basic security clearance, criminal record check, and child abuse registry check
  • Immunization records and vulnerable sector check
Work Environment

The ECE Assistant will work in a child care centre in an urban area, providing care and education to children before and after regular school hours.
