PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.0 Product Fabrication
Operates intricate machinery involved in the production and assembly of plastic handrails and various components. Adheres to the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure optimal equipment performance. Disassembles and reassembles dies and extruders for modifications. Utilizes hand tools to splice handrails with precision. Operates moderately complex machinery for the production of rubber handrails and other components. Engages in hand assembly of handrails and splicing tasks. Rectifies any deficiencies through skilled application of knives and other hand tools. Disassembles and reassembles molding equipment for style modifications. Configures and operates various material preparation machines to slit, cut, extrude, join, or pre-assemble rubber or rubberized materials. Disassembles and reassembles dies and other machinery for adjustments in style and size. Sets up and operates bending machines and routers to prepare brush holders and additional components. Ensures inventory accuracy by labeling and tracking material discrepancies. Maintains a tidy and organized workspace to promote efficient processes and defect-free products. Participates in special projects within the manufacturing areas as necessary. Packages all finished components according to approved packaging methods and standards.
2.0 Health, Safety, and Integrated Management System
Upholds a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established Health & Safety policies and procedures, as well as complying with current legislation. Follows the Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures to minimize environmental impacts. Maintains quality service by adhering to company standards and ISO procedures.
3.0 Inspection & Testing
Employs analog and digital gauges to measure products for compliance. Conducts visual inspections of products and compares them to established standards to assess conformity. Places products suspected of non-conformance on hold. Maintains Statistical Process Control (SPC) graphs and implements process adjustments based on negative trends.
4.0 Reporting & Administration
Maintains all quality records to ensure compliance with established standards outlined in the Quality Procedures Manual. Completes final inspection reports, inventory accuracy reports, and productivity reports. Prepares Certificates of Quality as required.
5.0 Training
May be called upon to provide training to other employees as requested by the Production Supervisor.
6.0 Team Collaboration
Collaborates with team members to support collective efforts and achieve related team objectives. Works alongside the team to implement ongoing improvements to processes and products.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of high school education. A minimum of 3 years of experience in production processes involving complex machinery is preferred. A high level of hand-eye coordination is essential. Ability to consistently handle weights exceeding 35 kg and to stand for extended periods. Proven experience in inspection and testing within an ISO 9000 accredited manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of Quality Concepts, Basic SPC, blueprint reading, and inspection techniques.
