Position Overview:

The Mobile Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of crane machinery, ensuring that all lifting tasks are performed with precision and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Properly assemble, set up, and rig the crane with necessary components such as booms, extensions, and hook blocks.
  • Execute a range of lifts, from standard operations to complex and extra-heavy loads.
  • Interpret load charts accurately, understanding all notes and warnings, and calculate the crane's actual net capacity for various configurations.
  • Ensure the safety of apprentices during crane operations.
  • Secure and shut down the crane appropriately when not in use.
  • Maintain detailed records of service hours, safety reports, and other operational activities while in the field.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform maintenance as required.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and be aware of site conditions that may impact crane operations.

Qualifications:

  • Active membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955.
  • Local residency or willingness to relocate, with no accommodation provided.
  • Possession of Red Seal Certification.
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License.
  • Experience operating cranes and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to interpret load charts effectively.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members.
  • Demonstrated dedicated work ethic.
  • First Aid Training, H2S Alive, and CSO certification.
