Job Summary

We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Practical Nurse to work part-time nights at our Don Mills location. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing interventions and care to residents within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Wellness Manager and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct assessments, identify changes in resident conditions, and update care plans accordingly.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and incidental charting for residents on the nursing unit.
  • Facilitate communication with nursing staff regarding resident care and concerns.
  • Initiate referrals to interdisciplinary team members as needed.
  • Work closely with departments to ensure the best possible care and service is provided to residents.
  • Utilize and allocate resources effectively, including distributing, monitoring, and maintaining adequate nursing supplies and equipment.
  • Provide direction to front-line nursing staff on equipment and supply use.
  • Supervise and investigate staff actions or concerns, addressing matters with the Registered Nurse or Director of Care as needed.
  • Redirect and mentor front-line healthcare staff when required.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, including recognizing hazards, reporting incidents, and participating in in-services and fire drills.

Requirements

  • Recognized nursing license (RPN licensing) and good standing.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, and MDS/RAI).
  • Resident-oriented individual with visions and values aligning with those of Verve Senior Living.
