We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Sk'aadgaa Naay Elementary School.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the principal or designate, the Early Childhood Educator will lead before/after school care and work collaboratively with the kindergarten teacher to facilitate a seamless day for kindergarten and primary students.

Responsibilities
  • Lead before/after school care programs
  • Collaborate with kindergarten teacher to facilitate a seamless day
  • Develop and implement early learning programs
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and children
Qualifications
  • Completed Post-Secondary certificate or Diploma as an Early Childhood Educator
  • Valid Childsafe First Aid Certificate
  • Clear criminal record check and up to date immunizations
  • Current Early Childhood Educator's Certificate to Practice from the BC government's ECE Registry
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience within a licensed child care setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the British Columbia Early Learning Framework and Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care Framework
  • Experience creating, organizing, planning, and implementing an early learning program
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Understanding of local indigenous history and culture as well as contemporary Indigenous issues
