About the Job:

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Delta, BC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Order and procure parts as needed
  • Complete reports and work orders
  • Assist in the review of mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules

Requirements:

  • Red Seal Certification or currently enrolled in a Heavy Duty 3rd or 4th year apprenticeship program
  • Computer literate and able to learn software systems
  • Meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards
  • Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records
