Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Team Attendant to join our Perioperative and Procedures Area team. As an integral member of our team, you will perform direct and indirect patient care functions under the direction of a regulated healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Perioperative and Procedures Area for surgery, including stocking supplies and performing environmental support and maintenance services.
  • Perform direct patient assistance functions, such as transporting patients and providing support during procedures.
  • Assist with cross-functional duties and perform other assigned tasks consistent with the job classification.

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.
  • Current Certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire date.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull, reach, and climb without physical discomfort.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of procedures for handling contaminated materials.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of care to surgical patients.
