Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a dedicated Echocardiography Specialist to join our esteemed team.
About the Role
As an Echocardiography Specialist, you will utilize advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging technology to aid in the diagnosis and management of patients with cardiac and vascular disorders. You will collaborate closely with physicians to evaluate patient conditions and perform echocardiographic examinations in accordance with departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct echocardiogram procedures as per departmental standards.
- Assist in the assessment of patients with heart-related conditions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures performed.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound program.
- Certification from Sonography Canada.
- Licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred.
- Experience in a tertiary care environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with various echocardiographic techniques and equipment.
Work Schedule
- This is a full-time position with a commitment of 75 hours biweekly.
- Shift work is required, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is $39.96, with potential market adjustments reviewed periodically.
