About the Role

The role of a cardiac sonographer, also known as an echocardiographer, involves utilizing advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging technology to aid in the assessment and management of patients with cardiac and vascular disorders. Cardiac sonographers collaborate closely with medical professionals, employing sophisticated equipment to evaluate patient conditions effectively. You will conduct echocardiogram examinations as per departmental protocols and standards.

Qualifications

We invite candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound
  • Certification from Sonography Canada
  • Licensure from the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Preferred minimum of one year of clinical experience
  • Experience in a tertiary care environment is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo is preferred
  • Proficiency with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations is beneficial
  • Experience with General Electric Vivid E95 is an asset
  • Additional language skills are advantageous, with French being preferred

Work Schedule
  • Full-time position with a long-term assignment; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shift work required, including evenings, nights, and weekends
Salary and Benefits

The hourly wage for this position is $39.96.

This role is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $0.23 biweekly, with periodic reviews for eligibility.
