Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse.
We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to become part of our Psychiatry In Patient team. This role is crucial in providing care to individuals facing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver personalized nursing care, including discharge planning and case management for clients with mental health disorders.
- Improve the overall well-being of clients and their families.
- Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial evaluations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to create effective treatment strategies.
- Administer medications as prescribed and observe client reactions.
- Maintain accurate client documentation, engage in team discussions, and contribute to quality enhancement initiatives.
- Active registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- Completion of at least 6 weeks of clinical training in a mental health environment.
- In-depth understanding of concurrent disorders and substance use issues.
- Capability to perform nursing assessments, create care plans, and accurately document client interactions.
- Strong conflict resolution abilities.
