Island Health is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Molecular Diagnostic Technologist to join our team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing using advanced molecular techniques. Your expertise will contribute directly to patient care and support the overall mission of Island Health.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide range of molecular diagnostic procedures, including DNA extraction, PCR amplification, and sequencing.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new molecular diagnostic techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or Molecular Genetics.
  • Certification in Clinical Genetics with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
  • Two years recent related experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
