Position Overview:

The Aerospace Maintenance Supervisor (AMS) is responsible for executing essential servicing and maintenance tasks in support of the Main Operating Base (MOB).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide fellow employees, including delegating tasks. Lead the team in all aspects of aircraft maintenance.
  • Contribute to crew shift assignments, aircraft maintenance scheduling, and the selection of aircraft for operational readiness, including overtime management.
  • Conduct First, Second, and Third Level maintenance on aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components. This encompasses servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification of aircraft systems and ground support equipment.
  • Execute aircraft release (ARA) when appropriately trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Perform ramp duties, including pre/post flight inspections, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of mission-critical equipment.
  • Conduct ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units, where qualified and authorized.
  • Travel as necessary to support maintenance, ferry, and deployed operations.
  • Deploy and operate at various main operating bases and remote sites, including mobile repair parties and ferry flights.
  • Work shifts as required and/or assigned.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other team members.
  • Participate in training for professional development and qualification/certification purposes.
  • Ensure that all team members complete their assigned training.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by removing debris from tasks performed and conducting foreign object debris (FOD) inspections.
  • Ensure that hangar, shop, storage, and office areas are clean and organized.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and directives.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental systems, basic structures, avionics, and power generation and distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with Flight Safety reporting procedures.
  • Understanding of the Company Quality Systems procedures.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures.
  • Capability to perform Non-destructive Inspection, where trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications and any specialized software necessary for the role.
  • Valid driver's license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors.
  • Completion of a CH149 type maintenance course.
  • Graduation from a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program, holding a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or equivalent qualifications from the Canadian Armed Forces or commercial experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in helicopter maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Eligibility to meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program.
