We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Physician to join our Inpatient Clinical Care team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with acute, chronic, and complex illnesses, diseases, injuries, and functional disorders of all body systems.
- Work collaboratively with attending physicians, residents, nursing, and allied care providers to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions.
- Provide history and physical examinations, advance care planning, and order and interpret diagnostic studies.
- Administer medications normally considered part of the practice of hospital medicine.
- Eligibility for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC in the Associate Physician – Acute class.
- Canadian Citizenship, permanent residency, or the ability to live and work in British Columbia.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to commencing orientation and maintenance of such certification throughout employment.
- Knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage common medical problems in the medical and perioperative patient.
- Confidence and experience in recognizing and initiating response to emergency situations.
- Ability to assess and initiate treatment of acute injuries and illnesses in the Emergency Department.
