Psychiatrist - Assessment and Stabilization Unit

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team in the Assessment and Stabilization Unit at Homewood Health Centre. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality clinical psychiatric care to patients, working collaboratively with nursing, social work, occupational therapy, and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical psychiatric care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct daily rounds and provide ongoing supervision and management of patient care.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly, including admission history, mental status, diagnostic impression, treatment plan, and weekly progress notes.
- Utilize electronic medical platforms to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Provide clinical guidance to the program and admitting department for timely referrals and admissions.
- Ensure best practice standards of clinical care are implemented and maintained.
- Specialist certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent body acceptable to the Royal College.
- Experience with diagnosis and management of complex psychiatric disorders and comorbid mental health and substance use disorders.
- Strong ability to create exceptional relationships with clients, patients, and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly developed organizational and time-management skills.
