Your Role

Englobe is seeking a Geotechnical Borehole Drilling Supervisor to oversee operations in the Southwestern Ontario region. Reporting to the Team Leader, your primary responsibilities will include conducting site investigations and geotechnical drilling to assess soil and rock properties, which are essential for engineering design and environmental assessments. Specifically, you will:

  • Gather and document factual field data on borehole logs according to provided specifications;
  • Identify soil types and characteristics while collecting samples at designated depths;
  • Plan borehole layouts and coordinate locates;
  • Manage traffic control operations and develop traffic control plans;
  • Supervise subcontracted drilling activities for various methods including auger borings and rock coring;
  • Determine appropriate drilling techniques for different scenarios;
  • Maintain detailed logs of boring and coring data, samples, and other relevant information;
  • Ensure field samples are returned to the laboratory properly labeled and organized;
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and supervisors;
  • Promote and adhere to safe work practices;
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Your Qualifications
  • A minimum of three to five years of relevant drilling experience;
  • Strong communication skills with project managers and clients;
  • Physically capable of performing outdoor work in various weather conditions;
  • Familiarity with geotechnical borehole logs and their role in preparing reports;
  • Experience with inspections and on-site material testing is advantageous;
  • Willingness to travel and work out of town, including overnight and weekends as necessary;
  • OTM Book 7 training is a plus;
  • Possession of a Class G Driver's license with a clean driving record;
  • Access to a personal vehicle;
  • Knowledge of GINT software is beneficial;
  • Demonstrated commitment to occupational health and safety.
