Job Summary

Oakes Truck Sales is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Inspect Equipment: Utilize your technical expertise to detect faults and malfunctions in our heavy-duty trucks, identifying areas for repair and maintenance.
  • Diagnose and Repair Faults: Employ computerized and other testing equipment to diagnose faults and malfunctions, determining the extent of repair required to ensure our trucks meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintenance Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks as required, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance.
  • Equipment Testing and Verification: Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and functionality, verifying that work meets manufacturer specifications.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and lubrication tasks, as well as other maintenance activities, to ensure our trucks remain in optimal condition.
  • Repair and Maintenance of Heavy Trucks: Perform repair and maintenance work on our heavy-duty trucks, including service attachments and working tools.
  • Emission Control Systems: Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Develop expertise in diesel engine repair, including fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems.
  • Major Internal Engine Repairs or Overhaul: Perform major internal engine repairs or overhaul, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Installation and Alignment of Engines and Machinery: Install and align engines and machinery, ensuring proper fit and function.
Requirements
  • Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy-duty diesel engine repair and maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
