As a Registered Nurse, you will employ a patient- and family-focused methodology to deliver comprehensive, high-quality, and secure care to individuals within the practice parameters defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, utilizing evidence-based nursing techniques and adhering to the standards established by Mackenzie Health. Key Responsibilities
• Effectively managing a diverse workload in a dynamic environment.
• Addressing and resolving challenges in a constructive and respectful manner.
• Exercising sound professional judgment while adhering to best practice guidelines.
• Promoting a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all by complying with patient and staff safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
• Valid Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in patient-centered care, including strong skills in patient assessment, care planning, education, and documentation.
Additional Qualifications
• Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication abilities in English, with a capacity to convey information effectively to patients, families, and colleagues.
• Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
• Ability to take initiative and adapt to new or unforeseen circumstances.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
• Familiarity with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) or Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
• 2 to 3 years of experience in acute nursing.
• 1 year of experience in Emergency, Critical Care, or Telemetry.
• Completion of Coronary Care Course 1 preferred or willingness to complete within 1 year of hire.
• Completion of Coronary Care Course 2.
• PALS certification preferred or commitment to complete within 1 year of hire.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention course preferred or similar training.
• TNCC, ENPC, or Triage Certification.
• Experience with electronic medical records.
