About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at SKYLINE TRANSPORT INC. as a Heavy Truck Repair Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex diesel engine systems, as well as maintaining and repairing heavy trucks and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and Repair Diesel Engines
    • Diagnose faults and malfunctions using computerized testing equipment
    • Repair or replace defective parts as needed
  • Maintain and Repair Heavy Trucks and Equipment
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
    • Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts
  • Order and Manage Inventory
    • Source and purchase replacement parts and supplies
    • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of parts
  • Collaborate with Colleagues
    • Work with other technicians and mechanics to complete repairs and maintenance tasks
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and repair techniques
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting heavy loads. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
