Diesel Mechanic Job Description

KING MOTOR FREIGHT is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct apprentices in the art of diesel engine repair and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust equipment as necessary, repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work to ensure the smooth operation of our fleet.
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks, including service attachments and working tools.
  • Verify and repair emission control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other routine maintenance tasks as required.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to handle heavy loads.
