About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team at Meridian Marine Industries Inc. as an Exterior and Interior Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, and applying paint, wallpaper, and other materials to interior and exterior surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, including drywall taping and patching, steam cleaning, and sandblasting.
  • Painting and Finishing: Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials to interior and exterior surfaces, including multi-color finishes and paint spraying.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate airless spray equipment, brush painting, and roller painting.
  • Estimation and Planning: Estimate costs and materials for painting projects.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in painting and surface finishing.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding environments.
  • Personal Qualities: Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, reliability, and ability to work as a team player.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Work outdoors, underground, and in confined spaces.
  • Equipment and Machinery: Operate airless spray equipment, brush painting, and roller painting.
