Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Toronto, ON. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for participating in client needs and project definition, reviewing client specifications, and developing conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Client Needs and Project Definition: Participate in client needs and project definition to ensure accurate understanding of project requirements.
  2. Design Development: Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for mechanical systems.
  3. Technical Reporting: Write technical reports and analysis to support design submissions.
  4. Shop Drawing Review: Review shop drawings for compliance and participate in the development of engineering standards.
  5. Site Visits: Visit and survey project sites for project-related activities.
  6. Construction Supervision: Provide construction supervision and conduct document and field reviews.
  7. Project Execution: Manage deliverables and project execution.
  8. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary design team located in offices across North America.
  9. Mentorship: Provide mentorship to junior technical personnel.
  10. Code and Standard Compliance: Maintain a detailed understanding of local codes and standards applicable to industry and projects.
  11. Best Practices: Maintain a reference set of standards and in-house best practices.
  12. Customer Support: Provide positive customer support and interact with other disciplines consultants.
Requirements
  1. Professional Registration: Current registration with PEO as P.Eng.
  2. Experience: 8-10 years of experience in building HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Refrigeration, Steam, and hot water systems, as well as fire protection system design.
  3. Software Skills: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit is a must.
  4. Industry Experience: Experience in consulting engineering in the pharmaceutical and/or food and beverage industries is an asset.
  5. Project Management: Experienced in leading and managing design projects, proposals, on-site commissioning, and/or power system studies in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Industry Standards: Good knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
  7. Engineering Methods: Proficiency in a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques.
  8. Travel: Flexibility to travel to client sites.
  9. Mechanical Equipment: Knowledge of mechanical equipment.
  10. Revit MEP: Experience with Revit MEP software.
  11. Communication Skills: Be a team player with excellent communication skills.
  12. Technical Skills: Strong technical skills.
  13. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  14. Regulations and Standards: Knowledge of local, Provincial, and National regulations and standards.
