Senior Mechanical Engineer, Analysis

AtkinsRéalis is a leading engineering company that works on major projects worldwide, aiming to improve the daily lives of communities globally. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Analysis to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to complete the design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems, and structures, including mechanical equipment.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support the design of nuclear pressure boundary components.
  • Prepare formal technical reports and review design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
  • Develop engineering budgets and support proposal preparation, ensuring timely execution within budget and schedule.
  • Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers, as well as prompt responses to critical engineering-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with AtkinsRéalis/Candu Energy Quality Assurance programs, applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
  • Coordinate and interface with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines or departments to execute assigned engineering work.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognized university.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • At least 8-12 years of related work experience in the field of design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment, with a preference for working knowledge of the CANDU design, fuel channel, and Calandria Vessel design.
  • Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA/ABAQUS.
